Bandar seri begawan: The Ministry of Education continues to emphasise the strengthening of research awareness and capacity within the universities. Hence, programs such as the Osaka University International Certificate Program, OUICP, are important in developing future-ready graduates. Beyond disciplinary knowledge, higher education must cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong research mind-set, skills that enable graduates to contribute meaningfully to innovation, industry, and national development. This was highlighted by the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Ministry of Education, at the OUICP Graduation Ceremony held at Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB, on the morning of December 16th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad also emphasised that the OUICP-developed in strong partnerships between Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD; UTB; Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA; and Osaka University-exemplifies the value of international academic collaboration. Ten students from UTB, UBD, and UNISSA received their certificates. Also present were Vice Chancellors of UTB and UBD, as well as the Acting Rector of UNISSA.
