‘Operasi Sakat’

A female foreigner was found guilty for an offence under Regulation 9 (4), Immigration Regulation Chapter 17 which is working by using a social visit pass. The offence was found during Operation SAKAT by the Law Enforcement Division, Immigration and National Registration Department, Bandar Seri Begawan at a shop selling accessories, in Mukim Gadong A.

The offence of violating the terms of the immigration pass can be charged with imprisonment of not more than 6 months or fine not more than $2,000 or both. Next action, working pass is cancelled and sending home. Meanwhile, any employer who hires, Immigration offenders can be fined $3,000 for each Immigration offender.
