An-Nur Harapan, a social enterprise, is now embarking on a third round operation of UNIKLEARN at its official centre located in Jalan Kebangsaan. The centre focuses on vocational training that enables UNIKLEARN to continue operations, where youths with disabilities are able to gain life skills.
An-Nur Harapan Centre uses bungalows provided by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in December last year. The opening was officiated this morning by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Among the facilities available at the centre are a training room, a kitchen and a laundry room. Also present were Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash’ari, Member of the Legislative Council; Dayang Saidah binti Haji Wahid, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports; and Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman bin Pengiran Haji Damit, Chairman of An-Nur Harapan.
The UNIKLEARN participants are undergoing a one-year programme at the centre, and are assessed and trained in various skills. They are also exposed to the workplace environment, including conservation with monitoring as well as job transitions.
