Omicron Variant Confirmed from 631 Gene Sequencing Samples

During the media conference, the Minister of Health also shared between 07 February 2022 until 05 March 2022, a total of 631 samples out of 671 samples had undergone gene sequencing testing and were confirmed the Omicron variant, while the rest of the samples were the Delta variant.

Among the Omicron variant cases, 494 were local cases and 137 were import cases. This indicates that the Omicron variant is the main variant currently detected in Brunei Darussalam. This is similar to the situation reported in most countries globally at present. Meanwhile, no compound fines were issued for the movement restriction carried out from midnight to 4 in the morning.
