The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism has issued compound fines to 4 companies for offences under the Fisheries Order 2009. The offences include operating any fishing appliance without a valid licence, or contravenes the conditions of the licence, or catching fish within 500 metres from floating fish cages located the country’s offshore.

 

Asyifa Enterprise and Hanasyawi Enterprise were each fined $1,00.00, while a $500.00 fine were issued to Syarikat Hajah Nirga Adi dan Anak-Anak and Linqingguo Trading Company.

 

In this regard, the Department of Fisheries reminded the public, mariners and fishing companies to always adhere to the regulations enforced under the Fisheries Order 2009. Any complaint on fishing violation or offences can be directed to the Enforcement Section, Department of Fisheries at 2770066 or 2770067 during office hours.
