Post: News Production Transformation Celebrated as TV Services Mark 50 Years

Bandar seri begawan: Technological sophistication has brought about major changes in the production of news materials, as highlighted by the News Centre in a report marking the 50th anniversary of TV services.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the evolution of news products over the past 50 years has faced numerous challenges. One significant transformation occurred when the world adapted to new norms following the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting news outlets including RTB news. An example of this evolution is the implementation of Sign Language presenters in Berita Perdana, aligning with RTB’s slogan ‘Sentiasa Bersama Biskita’ to foster an informed and knowledgeable society.

The surge in new technology has significantly altered the landscape of news broadcasting. To keep news relevant, RTB has fully incorporated LED panels in all news products. This technological advancement has also changed how TV news broadcasts are delivered, making them more accessible.

As one of RTB’s primary products, news strives to deliver accurate, concise, and up-to-date information. Audience surveys indicate that news broadcasts continue to be the premier product, with Berita Perdana, aired at 8 in the evening, recording the highest viewership percentage.

Despite its successes, the News and Current Affairs Division must maintain quality content and engaging TV presentations to ensure continued viewer engagement with RTB’s news broadcasts. The RTB News Centre aims to remain creative and innovative in producing high-quality news materials for its audience.
