Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA through the Centre for Research and Publication strives to expand its role in book publication in line with its objective of disseminating knowledge and dakwah. Recently, UNISSA has published 33 new books including two new books namely Arabic Language and Criminal Law.
The basic dictionary for Arabic-Malay, Al-Mujam Al asasi is among the Arabic Language Faculty latest publication. It is the first basic Arabic-Malay dictionary published in the context of Brunei Darussalam. The 445 pages of basic dictionary is sold at 27 dollar and aimed to improve the quality of teaching and learning of Arabic.
Meanwhile the 377-pages book titled ‘Criminal Law’ touched on General Defences and Special Defences in Criminal Law. The book, priced at 31 Dollar, contains 16 chapters and took almost 9 years to publish. The Criminal Law Book in the context of Brunei Darussalam was produced specifically to assist students and legal practitioners in the study of law on criminal defence.
Meanwhile, the ‘Assiyaaq Al Quran and its effectiveness in Al-Quran interpretations’ book is available at 19 dollar. It took more than a year to be published and the process of publishing the book went through several challenges including referencing interpretations books that are thousands of years old as well as newly published interpretations books.
