Nearly Half of Power Lines Relocated for Rail Projects, DOTr and Meralco Collaborate
MANILA – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced significant progress in relocating power lines affected by the construction of new rail projects in collaboration with Manila Electric Company (Meralco), with nearly half of the necessary work completed.
According to Philippines News Agency, Meralco has successfully relocated 47 percent of approximately 700 power facilities that need to be moved to accommodate several ongoing rail constructions. Bautista expressed gratitude towards Meralco for their prompt response to the relocation orders, which is crucial for maintaining the schedule of the rail project developments.
The collaboration between DOTr and Meralco focuses on addressing right-of-way issues efficiently, ensuring that the infrastructure changes do not delay the rail projects. Bautista emphasized the importance of continued partnership with Meralco to facilitate the smooth implementation of these critical transportation initiatives.
