NBA Announces All-Star Game Starters for 2024

NEW YORK CITY – The National Basketball Association (NBA) has officially unveiled the starters for the 2024 All-Star Game, with LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo selected as captains for the Western and Eastern Conference teams, respectively. This announcement marks a historic moment for James, who earns his 20th All-Star selection, setting a new record in the league.

According to Philippines News Agency, the game will see a return to the traditional East vs. West format and is scheduled to take place next month. LeBron James, playing forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, will lead a Western Conference lineup that includes Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder). James’s 20th selection surpasses the previous record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was selected 19 times.

The Eastern Conference team, captained by the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, will feature Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), and Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks). Antetokounmpo, renowned for his remarkable skills on the court, will be at the forefront of the East squad’s efforts to secure a win.

The reserves for the All-Star Game, consisting of seven players from each conference, are set to be announced on February 1. The anticipation for these announcements is high, as they will complete the rosters for both teams.

The 73rd NBA All-Star Game is poised to take place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on February 18, bringing together the league’s most elite players for a showcase of basketball talent and sportsmanship.
