Monthly Joint Operation Finds Business Premises Not Displaying Net Weight Marks on Packaged Products
Belait District, Brunei — Some business premises were found to be in violation of marking regulations during a monthly Joint Operation carried out on 18th October. The operation focused on the absence of net weight marks on packaged products such as sugar, rice, and dry food.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the operation was conducted by the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division I-B-E through the Weights and Measures Unit SDT and the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics DEPS through the Department of Consumer Affairs. The operation also verified eleven units of weighing machines used for trading purposes and found them to be accurate and registered with SDT. One Warning Notice was issued for selling seven types of cooking oil products above the set maximum price under the Price Control Act, Chapter 142.
