No new case was reported today, and the total cases remain at 141. This was stated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health at the media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation in the country yesterday afternoon. The media conference was joined by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, and Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

 

According to Yang Berhormat, all the contacts that has undergone quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act, Chapter 204, where 2 thousand 823 individuals have completed their quarantine.

 

Yang Berhormat said that in the past 24 hours, a total of 103 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 26 thousand 571.

 

In this regard, the Ministry of Health would like to share the statistics of the surveillance conducted in the sixth week of de-escalation period that is from the 15th until the 21st of June 2020, of which 530 samples have tested negative so far. Meanwhile, the number of expanded surveillance tests from 1st of June to 21st of June were 2 thousand 384 samples, of which one thousand 756 were taken from preschool and childcare centre staff. The expanded surveillance will be extended to primary schools where it will be conducted in random where 10 per cent of the total number of teachers will be selected for the SARS-CoV-2 swab test.

 

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health would like to advise the public to bring and use their own prayer mats and to wear facemask when using surau facilities in public areas such as shopping malls, department stores and others. The owners of the premises should also ensure that the public use their own prayer mat as well as facemask when using the surau or prayer room at their premises.

 

Following the announcement on the Bruhealth App, Yang Berhormat said 396 thousand 773 individuals have registered to the application. For companies and premises, a total of 10 thousand 257 have registered for the BruHealth application. Meanwhile, regarding the PremiseScan application, 5 thousand 576 have downloaded the PremiseScan application by 4 thousand 152 business premises.
