Manila Hosts ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ Rally and Service Fair as Marcos Jr. Pledges Enhanced Accessibility to Government Programs

MANILA – In a significant move to bring government services closer to the Filipino people, the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ (New Philippines) program was launched with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leading the initiative. This program underscores the administration’s dedication to transforming the Philippines into a nation where government assistance is readily available to every citizen. Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, speaking before the program’s kick-off rally at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, emphasized the campaign as a unifying call for all Filipinos to work towards a more prosperous future.

According to Philippines News Agency, the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ initiative coincides with a series of events aimed at enhancing the accessibility of government services. This includes the 10th Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Zambales, where over PHP500 million in aid and programs were distributed to the local populace. The service fair, part of a broader effort to heed President Marcos Jr.’s call for a more accessible government, featured a range of essential services from various government agencies.

The Serbisyo Fair offered assistance through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, eCard enrollment by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), and registration services by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). Additional services were provided by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Philippine National Police, Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC), among others, ensuring a comprehensive range of support for Filipinos.

This initiative represents a pivotal step in President Marcos Jr.’s commitment to a ‘Bagong Pilipinas,’ aiming for a transformation that makes government programs more accessible and responsive to the needs of the Filipino people. It marks a commitment to breaking down barriers between the government and its citizens, fostering a more inclusive and united Philippines.
