In maintaining a nation that has cross-generation identity to continue the country’s glorious legacy in the future, it is important for the youths to balance their use of technology and life practices through communication, the society and the country’s system especially in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution. According to the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, in response to the titah of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam that says the youth is the country’s asset and development machinery, it is important for the youths to be innovative, creative and adaptable in upholding our cultural heritage continuously. Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Siful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin while officiating the Southeast Asia Leadership and Multicultural Convention, SALAMCON 2019, also said it is not denying that we are in the era that is often influenced by an explosion of unrestrained information that has the potential to harm our nation’s culture. The launching was held yesterday morning at the Youth Centre in the capital.

As a basis for youth to develop knowledge through forums, skills development activities, cultural exchange as well as beneficial cultural activities, the convention which is attended by 24 local and overseas participants, aims to enhance the youths’ vital platform for expressing their love and pride, as well as providing opportunities to continue revitalizing and uplifting their respective cultures. Various activities will be conducted during the 3-day convention. Also present was Yang Berhormat Awang Iswandy bin Ahmad, Co-chair of the Southeast Asia Leadership and Multicultural Convention, SALAMCON 2019.
