Launching Of ‘Mesra’ Campaign

The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Tourism Development Department has introduced a customer-friendly campaign called ‘MESRA’ which stands for MUHIBBAH or Goodwill; ETIKA, having good etiquettes; SENYUM or Service with Smile; RAMAH, Friendly and ADIL or Always be fair. The campaign was officiated by the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong said the initiative aligns perfectly with the Malay Islamic Monarchy or MIB philosophy, which is deeply rooted into the culture of Brunei that has shaped the local way of life.

 

The trainings were organised in collaboration with SEAMEO Regional Center for Vocational and Technical Education and Training, SEAMEO VOCTECH and Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB. 174 participants participated in the training since last year. Dayang Salinah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Director of Tourism Development shared among the objectives of MESRA campaign is raise awareness and cultivate Islamic values in the tourism industry by highlighting the Islamic cultural attractions in the country.

 

Participants also shared their view on the beneficial training.
