More than 200 trees were planted at Berakas Forest Reserve to mark the launching of the Environmental Education Project, 3rd September morning. The project organised by Green Brunei in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation, Brunei Liaison Office and Brunei Shell Petroleum Company will be carried out until November this year.
Present was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office. The project aimed to raise public awareness on climate change issues and acts as a platform for the community, especially young people, to directly participate in efforts to reduce the impacts of climate change in the country. Also participating was His Excellency Maeda Toru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam.
