La Salle Green Hills and Woodrose School Crowned Champions in NCR Leg of Speedo National Inter-school Swimming Championships
SAN JUAN CITY: La Salle Green Hills and Woodrose School have emerged as the overall champions in the boy’s and girl’s divisions respectively at the National Capital Region (NCR) leg of the inaugural Speedo National Inter-school Swimming Championships. The competition took place on October 7-8 at Xavier School in San Juan City.
According to a new release by the Philippines News Agency, in partnership with Speedo Philippines, Bert Lozada Swim School, and MILO Philippines, La Salle Green Hills scored 1,179 points in the boy’s division, and Woodrose School registered 1,092 points in the girl’s division. The Most Outstanding Swimmers in the boy’s division were recognized from schools including Ateneo, Elizabeth Seton School Main, Xavier School, St. Joseph College-Novaliches, La Salle Green Hills, New Life Christian Academy, and Jubilee Christian Academy. In the girl’s division, awardees hailed from Montessori Academy Valenzuela, Assumption Antipolo, Don Bosco School Inc., St. Stephen’s High School, Paco Catholic School, Woodrose School, St. Joseph College of Novaliches, Colegio San Agustin, and Beacon Academy.
The Speedo National Inter-school Swimming Championships aim to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and life skills through competitive swimming. It also seeks to recognize the hard work and dedication of young athletes within their school communities. Coach Angelo Lozada, commissioner of the Speedo Inter-school NCR Leg, expressed optimism about the future of grassroots swimming in the Philippines.
