Kampung Salambigar Welcomes Chinese New Year with Calligraphy EventNew Book on Brunei’s Mosques Launched to Highlight Islamic Heritage

KAMPUNG SALAMBIGAR – In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Arno Zoey Wonderland hosted a special Chinese Calligraphy Activity along with an “Ang Pow Dip” at a local shopping complex on the afternoon of 4th February.

According to Radio Television Brunei, The event attracted members of the community, including Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Md. Yusof, a distinguished Member of the Legislative Council. According to the organizers, the activity offered participants a chance to immerse themselves in Chinese traditions by creating festive decorations.

GADONG, Brunei Darussalam – A new publication, ‘Masjid-Masjid Negara Brunei Darussalam’, aimed at showcasing the rich history of Brunei’s main mosques and their significance in Islamic history, was officially launched at a ceremony in a Gadong hotel. The book serves as a comprehensive resource, featuring historical references from the Al-Qur’an and hadiths of Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam on mosque etiquette.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. The book, authored by Dato Paduka Dr. Haji Abdul Latif bin Haji Ibrahim, is expected to serve as a valuable knowledge base for the public and contribute to the future development of mosques in Brunei Darussalam. The event commenced with a doa reading, followed by an address from the author, highlighting the book’s contribution to documenting and preserving the religious and architectural heritage of Brunei’s mosques.
