Loving Al-Quran is demanded by Islam. In fact, many ulama or religious scholars say it is obligatory and deem it similar as loving Allah Subahanahu Wata'ala and Rasulullah Sallahu 'Alaihi Wassalam. The matter was among the highlights of a talk by Awang Haji Mohammad Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Muluk, Teaching Staff at Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB during a Jaulah Fiqh Al-Usrah 2021 Series Programme at Kampung Beribi Mosque, 8th January night. The programme will be held weekly at selected mosques until March this year.
The talk added that reading al-Quran as a daily practice can produce a family that loves al-Quran and ward off undesirable problems in society. It said reading, understanding, practising, memorising according to one's ability and teaching the lessons gained from Al-Quran can make people love Islam's holy book. Among other things, the Jaulah Fiqh Al-Usrah Programme organised by KUPU SB is intended to spread family related knowledge in aspects such as education, law, guidance and counselling and emphasising Tarbiyah Islamiyyah or Islamic education as life's foundation.
