Bandar seri begawan: The Industry and Business Ecosystem Division, through its Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, conducted enforcement operations on seasonal festive stalls as part of the 79th Royal Birthday Celebration. The surprise inspections aimed to ensure the legality, accuracy, and registration of weighing and measuring instruments used for commercial purposes, in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983, Chapter 151.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the operation in the Bandar Seri Begawan area uncovered 19 units of weighing machines that were non-compliant with the Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151, due to the use of unregistered instruments. Owners of these instruments received Warning Notices and are required to report to the Weights and Measures Unit Office, SDT, within seven working days from the notice date to address the issue.
