Monitoring Ceremony for 79th Khatam Al-Qur’an Celebration in Brunei
Bandar Seri Begawan: 1,708 participants will be involved in the 79th Khatam Al-Qur’an for the Mukim and Kampung Consultative Council and School Students Nationwide in conjunction with His Majesty Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 79th Birthday Celebration. The monitoring ceremony on the reading of verses of the Al-Qur’an was held at selected mosques nationwide, 5th June afternoon.
According to Radio Television Brunei, in Brunei Muara District, the monitoring ceremony was held at Jame ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong, with Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunication, present at the event.
In Belait District, the ceremony took place at Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait, attended by Awang Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan, Permanent Secretary for Municipal and District Affairs at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The event in Tutong District was conducted at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque, Tutong Town, with Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, in attendance.
Meanwhile, in Temburong District, the monitoring ceremony was held at Utama Muhammad Salleh Mosque, Bangar Town, where Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Permanent Secretary for Civil Service Governance at the Prime Minister’s Office, was present.
