Handover Ceremony of ADMM Chairmanship 2022 to Kingdom Of Cambodia
Brunei Darussalam has officially handed over the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting, ADMM, Chairmanship to the Kingdom of Cambodia as the upcoming Chairman of ADMM in 2022. During a handover ceremony held virtually yesterday afternoon, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence as the outgoing Chair of ADMM 2021 in his final remarks, recalled the Titah of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Closing Ceremony of the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits and the Handing Over of the ASEAN Chairmanship, that ASEAN Community-building will always be a work in progress, and that it is thus vital to remain committed to upholding multilateralism and a strong regional architecture to enable meaningful progress for years to come.
The Second Minister of Defence also extended his sincere appreciation for the support accorded by the ASEAN Defence Ministers in ensuring the success of all ASEAN defence meetings. General Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, the Kingdom of Cambodia, delivered his remarks upon accepting the chairmanship of ADMM for 2022, where he congratulated Brunei Darussalam on the successful chairmanship of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting and its related meetings.
