In conjunction with World Environment Day, the Ministry of Development through the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, JASTRE has launched the 'Marine Debris Clean-Up Handbook'.
The launching ceremony was officiated by Dayang Martinah binti Haji Tamit, Director of JASTRE. Also held was a coastal cleaning campaign nationwide focusing on marine debris. 1,071 kilogrammes of garbage were collected at five beaches, in which 426 kilogrammes are plastic bottle waste. The campaign was organised to raise awareness and reduce waste in the marine environment.
