18 babies were born on the 1st of Muharram 1445 Hijrah in the country, with 14 babies born in the Brunei Muara District. The Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Islamic Syiar Development Division held a Gift Presentation Ceremony to the Newborn babies. The ceremony was held on 20th July morning, at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and wife as well as Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health and wife presented the gifts in the form of $100 in cash, baby essentials and religious books.
Meanwhile, Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs as Deputy Chairman of the Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, TAIB Board of Directors and wife presented gifts namely a Si Manja Account worth $200 and Hampers worth $60.
Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof, Assistant Mufti for Buhuth, State Mufti Department as Deputy Chairman of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sendirian Berhad Syariah Advisory Board and wife presented gifts in the form of vouchers worth $250 for Takaful Nur Participation and Gym Mats.
Meanwhile in the Belait District, 4 newborn babies were recorded. Gifts were presented by Awang Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The event took place at the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait.
