G7 Calls for Ceasefire in Gaza to Facilitate Hostage Release and Aid Delivery

MANILA — The Group of Seven (G7) nations, through Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, has urged for a temporary halt to the hostilities in Gaza. The ceasefire aims to facilitate the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas and ensure aid reaches Palestinian civilians.

According to Philippines News Agency, Speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Tajani outlined the G7’s dual objectives of ensuring Israel’s security and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. “We are calling for the immediate release of hostages, working on de-escalation, and calling for a suspension of fighting to guarantee the release of hostages and to get aid to civilians who are victims of Hamas,” he said. Tajani also highlighted the urgent need for a resolution to the ongoing conflict, advocating for a two-state solution as the only viable path to peace.
