Former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang Dies of Heart Attack at 68
Shanghai, China — China’s former Premier Li Keqiang died early Friday morning after suffering a heart attack, marking an end to his years of service in Chinese politics.
According to a news release by Philippines News Agency, Li, aged 68, had recently been resting in Shanghai. He suffered a heart attack on Thursday and despite all efforts, was declared dead at 12:10 a.m. local time on Friday. Li served as China’s Premier from 2013 until 2023 and was the second most powerful member of the ruling Chinese Communist Party from 2012 to 2022.
