An efficient road accident rescue operation, added with one’s physical and mental strength is among the main factors that are taken into account in the Firefighting Skill Competition 2016. The Operation Branch ‘E’ emerged as champion of the ‘Rip-It-Off’ Group Category while Awang Mohd Hazizan bin Haji Mazin won the ‘Braveheart Challenge’.

A total of 7 teams took part in the ‘Rip-It-Off’ category, where it showcased swift, efficient and safe rescue operation. Meanwhile in the Braveheart Challenge, 5 participants competed in the event where it tested the participant’s mental and physical abilities as well as their skills in rescue operations. Prizes and certificates were presented by Retired Lieutenant Colonel Awang Yahya bin Haji Abd Rahman, Director of Fire and Rescue Department. Winners of the competition will represent the country at several rescue competitions in the Republic of Singapore.
