Post: Filipino Entrepreneurs Optimistic About Opportunities in Chinese Market at 6th CIIE

Shanghai - A delegation of Filipino entrepreneurs expressed optimism about the potential of local food products in the Chinese market during their participation in the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from November 5-10.

According to Philippines News Agency, In an interview with the China Media Group Serbisyo Filipino, the business group shared their perspectives on how such exposure could transform their businesses and contribute to the Philippines' economy. Imelda Madarang, CEO of Fisherfarms, Inc., believes that the CIIE presents an opportunity to strengthen connections and cooperation between Filipino and Chinese companies, benefiting Filipino exporters, fisherfolk, farmers, and the national economy. Rebeca Gacayan, owner of Gacayan General Merchandise, noted the significance of the Chinese market for the coffee industry of Sultan Kudarat. Dolores Lazarus, owner of Gerb Golden Hands Corp., sees the CIIE as a crucial link for small exporters to reach Chinese consumers familiar with Filipino products. Emmanuel Belviz, president of the Davao City Durian Association, highlighted the expo's role in introducing the unique taste of Philippine durian to the Chinese market, expressing the willingness of durian farmers to meet the standards of the Chinese market.
