Female RBAF Personnel and Iban Man Embrace Islam in Separate Ceremonies

Kampung sungai damit pemadang: A significant religious milestone was marked as a female Royal Brunei Armed Forces personnel embraced Islam during a conversion ceremony held at Kampung Sungai Damit Pemadang, Tutong District. Dayang Shereni binti Imbaran, now known as Nur Shereni binti Abdullah Imbaran, was joined by distinguished guests including Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub, a Member of the Legislative Council.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Islamic Da’wah Centre reports that 128 individuals have converted to Islam from January to June this year, with 36 conversions occurring in the Tutong District alone. This trend reflects a growing inclination towards Islam in the region.

In a separate event, an Iban man underwent a conversion ceremony at the Da’wah Unit Office in the Temburong District. Awang Bedwind Balang Anak Serai, a Malaysian national, adopted the Islamic name Muhammad Azim Irwin Bin Abdullah. Awang Haji Hazimin bin Haji Metali, a Religious Development Officer at the Temburong District Da’wah Unit Office, was in attendance. Up to June this year, 19 individuals from the Temburong District have chosen Islam as their new faith, highlighting the district’s steady engagement with Islamic teachings.
