Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam held an unscheduled visit to the Ministry of Religious Affairs on the morning of July 8. During the visit, His Majesty emphasized several matters related to the governance of zakat affairs.
According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty highlighted the importance of using digital technology to facilitate and expedite the zakat management process. The focus was also placed on prioritizing the Zakat Asnaf Empowerment Programme and addressing complaints regarding delays in zakat disbursement to applicants. His Majesty, in his titah, stated that one of the wisdoms and purposes of Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala in legislating zakat is to enable the rich or capable to distribute zakat to the less capable.
