Export Volume Surges in Q1 2024 Amid Diverse Sector Gains
Bandar Seri Begawan — The first quarter of 2024 saw a significant increase in the export volume index, rising by 27.8 percent, driven primarily by gains in Mineral Fuels, Beverages, and Machinery and Transport Equipment. This data was released by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy, in their latest International Merchandise Trade Index (IMTI) report.
According to Radio Television Brunei, while the export unit value index slightly declined by 0.3 percent, affected mainly by sectors such as Crude Materials Inedible, Beverages, and Food, the import unit value index experienced a rise of 4.9 percent.
