The Bandarku Ceria programme continues to receive an encouraging response from the country’s society since it was first introduced. Now in its third week, the programme continues to enliven the atmosphere in the capital and the focus of recreation and family activities.
Yesterday the programme was held from 6 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon and was further enlivened with sports and sale activities. It was also participated by the Belait District Mukim and Village Consultative Councils. Various products from the One Kampong One Product project were sold such as handicraft and food items. As in the previous week, the Tutong District Mukim and Village Consultative Councils also took part in the Bandarku Ceria programme.
For students from the Institute Brunei Technical Education, IBTE, the Bandarku Ceria programme was a valuable initiative that enabled them to showcase their products. It also helped to train the students in marketing their products and services.
Popia Basah or Fresh Spring Rolls were among the food items popular among the public. In a unique marketing strategy, the entrepreneur, Awang Rozimi Mohamad sold his product by walking around the capital to attract customers.
The activities held during the Bandar ku Ceria programme can attract the interest of not only adults but also children. Most of the visitors to the programme said that it allows them to be with their families during the weekend.
