DTI Advocates for Partnership with Creative Industry in Pangasinan and La Union
PANGASINAN — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has extended an invitation to creatives in Pangasinan and La Union to collaborate with the government, aiming to advance the creative sector’s growth in the region.
According to Philippines News Agency, the DTI, Assistant Director Grace Lapastora of the Ilocos Region spoke on Wednesday, emphasizing the potential benefits of a close partnership between regional digital content creators and the government. This initiative, supported by SIKAP Creative Content Creators Association of the Philippines, Inc., aims to open avenues for creatives to access a wider array of opportunities. Lapastora addressed a gathering of 70 content creators and vloggers, reinforcing the government’s commitment to recognizing and bolstering their contributions to the Philippine economy.
The DTI is spearheading efforts through the Philippine Creative Industries Development Council to establish comprehensive stakeholder profiles and databases to enhance support for the sector. With a focus on both traditional and digital micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the DTI aims to expand its understanding and assistance for the community’s growth. An upcoming roadshow in Ilocos Sur will continue these efforts, engaging content creators from Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur as well. These activities are part of the broader implementation strategy of the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act or Republic Act 11904, which aims to foster the promotion and development of Philippine creative industries.
