DILG Honors 16 Northern Mindanao LGUs for Anti-Drug Efforts

Quezon City – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recognized 16 local government units (LGUs) in Northern Mindanao for their exceptional performance in the anti-illegal drugs campaign. The awards were presented during the National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards.

According to Philippines News Agency, the LGUs from four provinces in the region received “national awardee” status based on their 2022 ADAC Performance Audit scores. In Camiguin province, Catarman, Guinsiliban, Mahinog, Mambajao, and Sagay were honored. Misamis Oriental’s Binuangan, Lagonglong, Laguindingan, Lugait, and Naawan; Lanao del Norte’s Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Kauswagan, and Sapad; and Bukidnon’s Damulog and Malitbog also received awards. These LGUs achieved a full score of 100 functionality points. Additionally, the Municipalities of Binuangan, Maramag in Bukidnon, and Calamba in Misamis Occidental were acknowledged for their outstanding Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) for persons who used drugs. DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos, Jr. highlighted the critical role of LGUs in the government’s anti-drug campaign, emphasizing a grassroots approach to combating illegal drug use and distribution.
