Digital Transformation Plan

The First Meeting of the 18th Legislative Council has approved allocations for all ministries and under the Development throughout the 6-day session. The session approved allocations for 2 more ministries namely the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and the Ministry of Energy, as well as Development.

 

The morning session began with the budget allocation deliberation for the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. According to Yang Berhormat, there was an increase in new registrations for E-Darussalam account. As of January 2022, over 208 thousand accounts have been registered, and over 170 thousand accounts are active.

 

Yang Berhortmat said to further mobilise transformation for the government sector holistically, it must be based on the Whole of Government approach. The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and the Prime Minister’s Office has established the Digitisation Policy Task Force, which is responsible to review act and policy making that needs update in upholding government efforts towards realising a digital government. At the same time, serious attention was also given to expand digital transformation at the private sector. In this matter, 2 industry digitalisation workshops were held to discuss digital transformation plan preparations for identified industries such as agri-food industry digitalisation workshop. Industry digitalisation for 8 other industrial sectors that are listed under the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025, is expected to be completed by the end of June 2022.
