Developing the Creative Industry Through Government and Private Initiatives


Bandar Seri Begawan: The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence emphasized the importance of exploring and developing the creative industry through a ‘whole of government’ and ‘whole of nation’ approach. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof noted that both government and private entities are actively engaged in activities and initiatives to support and nurture this sector.



According to Radio Television Brunei, the Department of Radio Television Brunei, as the principal broadcast channel, is dedicated to diversifying initiatives that bolster the creative industry. This includes organizing local artistic talent contests and appreciation awards, aligning with the financial allocations for 2025-2026. The department aims to achieve 8 platforms or contests as outlined in their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Despite facing challenges in meeting the set targets for 2023 and 2024, RTB has exceeded expectations in the 2024-2025 financial year by successfully implementing 9 platforms or contests, surpassing the target of 8 KPIs.
