Gifts Presentation Ceremony for Newborns Marks Ilal Hijrah 1447 Celebration

Bandar seri begawan: 14 babies were welcomed into the world on the 1st of Muharam, aligning with the Ilal Hijrah 1447 celebration. Eight boys and five girls were born in the Brunei Muara District. The Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Islamic Syiar Development Division, organized a gift presentation ceremony for the newborns at the Women and Children Centre, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the gifts were presented by several dignitaries, including Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, and Datin. Other notable figures included Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, and Datin; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, and Datin; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs, and Pengiran Datin. The gifts comprised baby essentials, religious books, a “Si Manja” account valued at two hundred dollars, a hamper, and a three hundred dollars voucher for TBK Nur Savings and baby necessities.

In another part of the country, a baby girl was born at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait. Gifts were presented by Awang Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan, Permanent Secretary for Municipal and District at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The ceremony was also attended by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Md. Salleh bin Haji Othman and Yang Berhormat Awang Mohamad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann, Members of the Legislative Council.
