Post: Cybercrime Briefing Focuses on Online Fraud and Social Media Vigilance

Bandar seri begawan: The Human Resources Development Division, Department of Administration and Finance, Public Works Department (PWD), in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department, organized a series of Awareness Campaigns for PWD employees at the PWD Headquarters on February 7, 2026. The event included a significant briefing titled 'Jenayah Siber - Penipuan Dalam Talian dan Kepentingan Mengamalkan Kewaspadaan di Platform Media Sosial'. According to Radio Television Brunei, the briefing aimed to educate attendees on various aspects of cybercrime, including the modus operandi of fraudsters, the importance of personal data security, and methods to reduce the risk of falling victim to online scams. The session sought to enhance the employees' understanding and awareness of the threats posed by cybercriminals, especially through social media platforms. The initiative indicates a proactive approach by the Public Works Department in addressing cybercrime, emphasizing the critical need for vigilanc e and informed practices among its workforce. The campaign highlights the growing importance of cybersecurity awareness in preventing fraud and safeguarding personal information in the digital age.
