COVID-19 Media Conference

The number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam continues to show a decrease whereby the average daily rate of cases last week was 143 cases per day, compared to 223 cases per day in the previous week. The matter was stated by the Minister of Health during the media conference on COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar also shared there are no cases in Categories 5 and 4 which requires treatment in the Intensive Care Unit or requires oxygen assistance and is under close supervision.

As of 23rd January 2023, the rate of vaccination coverage of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam remains at a high level with 79 percent of all citizens and residents of the country having received the third dose of the vaccine and 11.8 percent also having received the fourth dose. A total of 148 new cases have been reported, of which 147 cases are the result of ART tests and one case has been detected from RT-PCR laboratory tests that have been performed in the past 24 hours.
