A local man was charged in the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate’s Court for causing mischief by punching a wall at the COVID-19 Holding Area Mahad at Mahad Islam Brunei, Tutong.

 

Mohd Amin bin Haji Suhaili was also charged for using criminal force against an army personnel on duty at the isolation centre, after the incident went viral on social media last week. The accused was charged under Sections 427 and 352 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22, and if found guilty, faces a maximum penalty of imprisonment of 5 years and whipping with not less than 2 strokes, and a maximum penalty of imprisonment of 1 year and fine, respectively.
