Post: Collection Proceeds Presentation Ceremony for DANA Fundraising

Bandar seri begawan: The SMS Brunei Prihatin initiative, aimed at supporting the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) for the 2024-2025 period, has successfully collected BND94,867 from public contributions. The handover ceremony for these proceeds took place at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex on the afternoon of November 27th. The event also marked the launch of the SMS Brunei Prihatin for DANA 2025-2026 and included the presentation of school equipment and stationery coupons for DANA orphans for 2026.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, who serves as the Chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. AWANG Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, who is a Member of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Board of Directors and the DANA Board of Trustees.

The event featured the presentation of collected donations from customers of DST, Progresif, and Imagine, alongside the launch of the SMS Brunei Prihatin project for DANA 2025-2026. This new phase of the project will run for nine months, commencing on November 27th, 2025, and concluding on August 27th, 2026. It enables the public to donate to orphans via SMS without incurring service charges.

During the ceremony, DANA also distributed donations in the form of BND70 coupons to 2,224 orphans. These coupons can be redeemed at 23 different companies that provide school supplies and stationery.
