Retirees from the Ministry of Defence are hoped to continue to venture into new opportunities during their retirement and to give their cooperation to the government in combatting negative activities. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, explained on the trust and responsibilities during their service which is full of challenges, opportunities, failures as well as successes. The Second Minister of Defence was speaking at the Certificates and Souvenirs Presentation Ceremony for Civil Servants of the Ministry of Defence for year 2019 and Appreciation to recipients of Excellent Civil Service Employee Awards, APCPA and Civil Service Staff Meritorious and Dedication Award, AKB 2PA for 2019 for the Ministry of Defence. Yesterday afternoon's ceremony took place at Royal Berkshire Hall, Jerudong.

Yang Berhormat also noted that many successful retirees have ventured into a new career or enter the entrepreneurship field as individual or companies. Life, according to the Second Minister of Defence, is a struggle that as long as we are healthy and capable the fight must continue. As a citizen, it is our role to assist the government in realising Wawasan Brunei Dua Ribu Tiga Puluh Lima, although at a different capacity, we must support the whole Nation Approach.

77 retirees from the Ministry of Defence received their service certificates, while appreciation certificates were handed over to four recipients of the APCPA and a recipient of the 2019 AKB 2PA. Also present was Major General Udara Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF.
