Post: Business Premise in Tutong District Issued Warning for Price Control Violation

Tutong: The businesses are urged to maintain ethical business practices and uphold consumer interests by adhering to the Price Control Act, Chapter 142, and the Weights and Measures Act, Chapter 151. The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics together with the Weights and Measures Unit emphasised the matter following one Warning Notice was issued to one business premise in Kampung Penanjong in the Tutong District. The business premise failed to comply with the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 for selling cooking oil above the prescribed maximum prices. The offence was found during the Joint Operation by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics and the Weights and Measures Unit, recently. According to Radio Television Brunei, inspections of weighing scale, liquid measures; and linear measures used for business purposes are verified, accurate and registered in accordance with the Weights and Measures Act 1983, Chapter 151 and the Weights and Measures (Verification) Regulations 1994.
