Temburong: The Narcotics Control Bureau organized the inaugural Bukit Patoi Challenge at the Bukit Patoi Forest Recreation Park, Temburong District, to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event, held on the morning of August 17th, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse through a healthy lifestyle initiative.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event saw the participation of 150 individuals competing in various categories, including the Men and Women's Open, Veteran's categories, and a Fun Hike. The challenge was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Haji Awang Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, Member of the Legislative Council, along with Awang Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar, Acting Temburong District Officer, and Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Zalani bin Hj Ismail, Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau.
The Bukit Patoi Challenge is part of the bureau's ongoing efforts to promote drug awareness and prevention by encouraging a healthy lifestyle among the community. The successful event highlighted the importance of community involvement in combating drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
