Brunei Unveils New Piawai Brunei Darussalam Standards at World Standards Day

Bandar seri begawan: The nation has made significant strides in developing its national standards, known as Piawai Brunei Darussalam, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s pursuit of quality and safety benchmarks. These standards are fundamental to Brunei Darussalam’s national vision, Wawasan Brunei 2035, and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This advancement was highlighted during the Opening Ceremony of the World Standards Day at the Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was officiated by Doctor Dayang Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, the Permanent Secretary for Economy, Trade and Industry at the Ministry of Finance and Economy. The event coincided with the unveiling of new logos for Majlis Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam (MSABD) and Pusat Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam (PSABD).

The ceremony also included a seminar featuring speakers from various prominent organizations. These included Pusat Standard dan Akreditasi Brunei Darussalam, Jabatan Standard Malaysia, the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA), and the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority. These discussions underscored the importance of standards in ensuring trust, quality, and safety across different sectors, reinforcing Brunei’s commitment to elevating its national and international standing.
