BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – In a significant diplomatic engagement, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received Yang Berhormat Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, at Istana Nurul Iman this afternoon.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the meeting was part of the Malaysian Foreign Minister's visit to Brunei to attend the 25th Meeting on the Implementation of the Exchange of Letters (EOL), an important agreement initiated in 2009 between the Sultan of Brunei and the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Accompanying the Malaysian Minister were key officials including Yang Berbahagia Dato' Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, Secretary General, and Yang Mulia Nur Ezira binti Mahadi, Chargé d'Affaires at the High Commission of Malaysia in Brunei Darussalam. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Brunei’s Second Minister of Foreign Affairs, was also in attendance.
During the Audience Ceremony, discussions focused on further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation across various sectors between the two nations. This meeting comes at a pivotal time as Brunei and Malaysia mark the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, reflecting on decades of partnership and looking ahead to new areas of collaboration.
