Post: Brunei Hosts World-Renowned Half Marathon on Iconic Bridge

Bandar seri begawan: The Brunei Half Marathon 2025 offered participants a unique opportunity to traverse the entire expanse of the Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge, linking Brunei Muara District and Temburong District. This event has become a landmark in the nation’s infrastructure. The marathon successfully attracted over three thousand participants from both local and international origins, marking a significant event in Brunei Darussalam’s history.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the 21.1-kilometer race commenced on the evening of November 29, flagged off by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, who serves as the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence.

Prizes for the marathon were presented by several dignitaries, including the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Participants shared that the marathon provided an interesting experience.
