The Centre of Science and Technology Research and Development, Ministry of Defence launched the Brunei Darussalam Defence Science and Technology Conference, B-SCI 2022 for the first time yesterday. Aimed to promote a community and professional network of researchers, scientists and engineers to fulfil the defence and security needs of Brunei Darussalam through the exchange of ideas, knowledge and current research, the event was launched at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces in Kampung Tanah Jambu.
It was inaugurated by Pengiran Doctor Haji Mohd Esa Al-Islam bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yunus, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence as representative of the Deputy Minister of Defence. With the theme 'Defence Science and Technology Innovation for Future Sustainment', the 2-day conference is held until today, 28th June 2022. The conference included a keynote address on 'Leveraging on Regional Partnerships to Advance Science Technology Innovation Development & Adoption to Support Future Defence Capability Sustainment', and a virtual panel forum joined by Brigadier General Udara Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif Bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force.
