According to Philippines News Agency, Agusan del Norte 2nd District Rep. Dale Corvera was reelected as national president for a third term during their meeting on Friday. The role of BSP national president is an annual term, emphasizing continual reassessment and renewal at the leadership level. Alongside Corvera, the Board elected Emilio Aquino as senior vice president; Charles Mark Parcia as VP for Luzon; Francis Frederick Palanca as VP for the Visayas; Jose Rizalino Ortega as VP for Mindanao; Jimmy Ang as national treasurer; Wigberto Encarnacion Jr. as assistant national treasurer; Cedrick Train as chief national commissioner; David Dominic Lanuza as international commissioner; and Jose Mari Pelaez as deputy international commissioner.
“Leading this great organization for me is not just about fulfilling a duty but embracing a calling that reflects my lifelong dedication to Scouting and its values that shaped me to become what I am today,” Corvera stated on Saturday. He highlighted the transformative power of Scouting in impacting the lives of young people through good governance and promoting safe scouting in all activities and training courses.
Corvera also reiterated his commitment to the 8-Point Agenda he laid down during his initial term as president, emphasizing the continuous support for local councils and compliance with auditing rules and regulations. “With my exposure to world scouting, I saw the need for us to give more opportunities to our scouts to be involved in decision-making and in innovating scouting, hence, more focus will be given to this,” he added.
In addition to his role with BSP, Corvera chairs the BSP Council in Agusan del Norte and the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee, positions that highlight his extensive involvement and influence within the scouting community both locally and internationally.
