MACTAN — The Bureau of Customs - Sub-port of Mactan has announced plans to intensify stakeholder engagement initiatives following a successful revenue collection in the first half of 2024, where it significantly exceeded its targets.
According to Philippines News Agency, collector of BOC-Mactan, the agency collected PHP1.2 billion in duties and taxes, thanks in large part to the top 10 importers whose contributions totaled PHP876 million. Campo highlighted the significant role these importers play in supporting the government's development projects through their commitment to paying the correct duties and taxes. The sub-port's collection efforts were spearheaded by AD Gothong Manufacturing Corp., which contributed PHP344.5 million, making it the top payer in the region.
Other notable contributors included San Miguel Food, Inc. with PHP134.3 million, Alta Global Services, Inc. with PHP90.7 million, and Universal Feed Mill Corp. with PHP73.4 million, among others. Campo emphasized the importance of personalized service and closer cooperation with these major corporations to facilitate faster trade and potentially increase future revenues.
This strategic approach has led to a total revenue collection of PHP1,270,075,925.27 for the first half of the year, surpassing the semi-annual target of PHP615.83 million by PHP654,245,925.27, which represents a positive deviation of 106.24 percent.
