In another development, the Ministry of Home Affairs has created the Beauty and Health Establishment Order 2016 or the EKK Order 2016, in order to control activities related to the order which took effect early this year for entrepreneurs and members of the public who wish to start a business under the order.
Awang Hj Mohammad Sunadi bin Hj Buntar, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs during a media conference, explained that the 12 types of services and facilities controlled under the Beauty and Health Establishment Order 2016 are aerobics, aromatherapy, hairdressing, body slimming, cosmetics, facial and body treatments, gymnasium, hair salons, manicure and pedicure, massage, reflexology and spa.
These business activities however, must obey the rules and regulations in handling the EKK, which is issued by the Ministry as well as the enforcement agency under His Majesty’s government. If the business fails to comply with the rules and regulations, their EKK license will be suspended or revoked.
